Mortgage Rescue Schemes can be confusing to homeowners who have never entered a government mortgage rescue program. This site aims to provide you with the tools you need to understand and make the most out of your mortgage rescue scheme. However, despite our best efforts to describe the mechanism of these programs it can be difficult to visualize their benefits if you do not have an example of how they can help. In this post we include a few real life examples of how the mortgage rescue program saved families similar to yours from losing their homes.
Meet the Meltons.
The Melton Family is made up of Kelly and Jamie Carr and their five children. They were sure their home was going to be repossessed. They were so sure they packed their suitcases and stored some of their furniture at a friends house. However, over six months have passed and they still have the same address. What did they do?
First they contacted the Citizens Advice Bureau. This bureau provides practical financial advice to help families get back on their feet. The Money Advice Supervisor of the Bureau they visited informed them about Mortgage Rescue Scheme, liaised with Melton Council and the Carr’s lender always keeping the Melton family up-to-date with the negotiations been made with the lender. Finally they were approved for a government mortgage to rent option and can now continue living in their home for a modest rent payment. This why they can stay in their home and avoid further disruption to the family. As Kelly Melton says, help is available you just don’t need to be afraid of asking for it.
Mr A Stops a Repossession in its Tracks
The Mortgage Rescue scheme can, as this example shows, help save your home and set aside a warrant of repossession. Take for example Mr. A’s experience. Mr. A, husband and father of two children faced the frightening prospect of repossession from his mortgage provider when he was served with an eviction notice. The lending company had sent previous notices but to the wrong address so Mr. A was given nor warning. Mr. A went straight to his Brighton Housing Trust in search of help. The Money Adviser requested a repeal of the house repossession and was successful. The bank was also ordered not to pass on any of the expenses of filing for eviction to the client. Mr. A mentions how understanding and helpful the housing trust adviser was toward him.
